Hiland Park is a "B" School!
We have some phenomenal news to share, Razorback families! For the first time since 2013, Hiland Park Elementary School has officially earned a school grade of a 57% B!
This incredible milestone is a direct reflection of the dedication, grit, and hard work of our students, teachers, staff, and community. Moving a school grade requires a monumental effort, and we could not be prouder of our entire Razorback family for rising to the challenge.
How We Did It: The Power of Our PLC Process
A milestone like this doesn't happen by accident. It is the result of intentional, strategic teamwork. Over the past year, our educators have deeply leaned into the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process.
Every week, our teachers gathered in collaborative teams to look closely at student data, share best practices, and ask the critical questions: What do we want all students to learn? How will we know if they learned it? How will we respond if some students do not learn it? How will we extend the learning for students who are already proficient?
Through this powerful PLC structure, we transformed data into action, ensuring that no student fell through the cracks.
Focused Instruction & Target Growth
In addition to our collaborative planning, our success came down to focused, high-impact instruction in the classroom. Our teachers leveled up their daily lessons to target specific student needs, bringing a sharp focus to foundational skills and critical thinking.
We didn't just teach harder; we taught smarter. By implementing targeted intervention groups, utilizing real-time progress monitoring, and keeping our students motivated and engaged, we were able to maximize growth for every single child who walks through our doors.
Looking Ahead
Earning a "B" is a massive victory, but we aren't stopping here. This achievement proves what we have always known: Hiland Park Elementary is a place where excellence thrives. We will continue to use our PLC process and data-driven instruction to push the envelope, support our students, and aim even higher in the school years to come.
Thank you to our amazing parents and guardians for your unwavering support at home, and congratulations once again to our phenomenal students and staff.
Go Razorbacks!
